Football is a solid a holiday tradition as any, so whether you're an avid sports junkie or can't tell a touchdown from touching your toes, you're likely to hear about it. Here's the Thanksgiving Day 2018 football rundown.

Who's playing?

Each Thanksgiving Day, there are three football games. The Dallas Cowboys and the Detroit Lions play on their home turfs every holiday, while the third game varies from year to year. All game times are listed in Central Standard Time.

11:30 a.m.: The Chicago Bears play the Detroit Lions in Midwest rivalry. With seven wins and three losses, da Bears' record is decidedly better than the Lions', which sits at four wins and six losses.

3:30 p.m.: The Washington Redskins play the Dallas Cowboys in a bitter conference rivalry. The Cowboys have been hot and cold from one game to the next. Going into the game, the Redskins are 6-4, while the Cowboys are 5-5.

7:20 p.m.: The Atlanta Falcons play the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are known to dominate when at home, but the Falcons' quarterback, Matt Ryan, is one of the buzziest players to watch this season.

Who's performing during halftime?

Singer-songwriter Mike Posner ("I Took a Pill in Ibiza") performs during halftime at the Lions' Ford Field.

It's "all about that bass" when pop singer Meghan Trainor performs at the Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

And Southern University's renowned Human Jukebox marching band and the famous Dancing Dolls bring the flavor of New Orleans center stage at the Saints' Mercedes Benz Superdome.
