Better watch out: See the creepy costumes of Deep Ellum's Krampus Walk

Deep Ellum patrons got a taste of one of the creepier Christmas traditions Saturday, when 60 intricately-costumed Krampus monsters marched through the neighborhood for the 3rd annual Krampus Walk.

Known as the Christmas Devil, Krampus is a 500-year-old tradition that originated in the Alpine region of Europe. Before St. Nicholas comes, Krampus searches the area for bad children to whip and take back to his lair in the Alps.

Krampus has been a North Texas tradition for the last three years, thanks to haunted house owner Dan Baker and the Krampus Society. (Read more about the tradition here.)
