Yo, October. You're looking good, girl. This weather is not bad, the upcoming tunes are on fire and you present one of the more socially-accepted opportunities for adults to dress up in costumes. In other words, we can officially start talking about Halloween, right?

Hardcore Halloweeners start brain-storming and costume creating sometimes a full year in advance. But, maybe you're stuck. Or, were frying bigger fish until fall. We scrounged up 5 favorites from years past -- each with a Dallas or Texas edge -- to get your own ideas rolling.

Have an epic Texas/Dallas-themed costume you want to share? Tweet us a photo.

Ms. Peggy flyin' in fine form

See. Dallas' skyline really is the best in the world.

It's nearly impossible to tell which one is authentic. #redpegasus #halloween2014 #dallashalloween

The Queen of Toddler Tejano

You don't have to be a baby to make this tribute awesome, but it certainly doesn't hurt.

The Rahr runner

This is Robert Fuentes. He transformed a store-bought "Colt 45" costume into a Rahr beer for the brewery's annual Oktoberfest 5K and party. Further modifications included bubbles that foamed out of the top.

Monday blues anyone? We know but say waaaaaa?? Holy @%$^ its RACE WEEK! So act like you're working and get yo' spot...

Dark humor heroes

Not exactly cutting edge in 2015, but Big Tex is always a hit. Especially when he's deep fried.

Grape emoji

Remember Texas' confounding signature emoji? Even a lazy DIY-er can pull this off.
