Sweaty napping: the Casper Nap Mobile experience

You know what you get when you combine sleep, daytime, Texas summers and the outside? A sweaty nap. And no one likes the feeling of waking up feeling rested but gross, so they immediately have to go take a shower.

Today I tried out one of the beds in the Casper Nap Mobile at White Rock Lake. This was the first stop in D-FW as a part of the "East Nap Tour." Tomorrow the nap truck will be at Reverchon Park, and Sunday they will be in Fort Worth.

I spoke to a few of the other intrigued consumers who had come by to experience the wonders of the online sleep startup Casper. Most of them were fairly satisfied with the experience -- the bed is comfortable, the shade that you can lower blocks out a lot of light and there wasn't much of a line, so you didn't have to wait.

All of these people tried out the beds before me, but when I got there, it was ... less fun.

News Roundups

See, the beds are air conditioned, so if you get there after no one's been there for awhile, the nap experience is kind of enjoyable. When I got there, people had been going in and out and letting all of the AC out, and all of Texas knows what happens when you leave the door open too long.

Your formerly cool home (or in this case, bed) turns into a nightmare of burning heat and sweat stains on clothes.

I was already sweaty just from my short trip from the car, and guess what? By the time you reach the Nap Mobile, you'll be feeling gross too.

Plus, I can't shake the feeling that I was laying in someone else's perspiration since they don't change out the sheets after every person.

If you're one of those people who's like, "I don't sweat," then sorry honey, but that's a lie. We all sweat. That's what Texas teaches us. It's the first thing toddlers learn before walking.

They also have this red phone that's supposed to read you bedtime stories, and maybe I just can't use a phone properly (which is highly unlikely since I'm a millennial, and we're always on our phones), but that thing would not work.

Overall, for the purpose of the nap tour, which happens to be to allow customers to experience Casper products since they are an online only retailer, the Casper Nap Mobile wasn't too terrible.

If you order a Casper mattress, they deliver it shrink wrapped inside this short wooden box, so when you open the box it can expand really quickly, and knock over your lamp.

Just make sure that if you do go try out the Nap Mobile, take a handheld fan or three and 8 water bottles to ensure that your don't add to the melting pot of perspiration they have going on there.
