An old villain returns in new trailer for 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story'

"This is our chance to make a real difference," says Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) in the new trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. She's not wrong. She and a team of Rebels are on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star -- a mission that helps kick off the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and has massive implications for the galaxy at large.

So, y'know. No pressure.

We've seen glimpses of Rogue One, the first of several planned Star Wars anthology films (being released separately from the numbered, mainline movies in the saga), before. But Disney and Lucasfilm just dropped the first fully formed trailer, which gives this best look yet at what we can expect when it hits theaters on December 16.

We get a lot of "first looks" in this trailer, among them K-2SO, the new droid voiced by Plano Senior High School grad Alan Tudyk (you might know his voice from Frozen, Zootopia, Firefly or a host of other things he's been in).

Oh yeah, and there's that guy at the very end. You don't see his face or hear his voice, but you get a short glimpse of his black helmet, and you can hear that he has a breathing problem...

(If you're anxiously waiting for the next adventures with Rey, Finn and Luke, Star Wars: Episode VIII is still on track to be released in 2017. This is just something to tide you over in the meantime.)
