Yes, a familiar face (well, mask) is returning in 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story'

Daddy's home.

This week's issue of Entertainment Weekly confirms some big news that most diehard Star Wars fans have already assumed (or at least strongly suspected): Darth Vader will make an appearance in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

It's not too surprising. Rogue One takes place before A New Hope -- before a scrappy band of Rebels, a smuggler and a soon-to-be Jedi Knight blew up the first Death Star. The Empire is at the height of its power, and the Emperor's apprentice is terrorizing the galaxy with his breathing problems.

EW promises to go behind the mask and tell everybody about Vader's first day on set, as well as what it means for the future of Star Wars (maybe not a ton, but who knows?).

The issue isn't all about Vader, though. Among other Rogue One information and reveals, EW promises to tell you all about Jyn Erso (The Theory of Everything's Felicity Jones), "the outlaw who has clashed with both the Rebellion and the Empire, and now has a chance to clear her ledger of past wrongs by leading a mission for the good guys. It's also personal -- her father, played by Mads Mikkelsen, is a scientist whose knowledge is sought by both sides."

It all leads to the release of Rogue One's theatrical release in December.
