'Batman: The Killing Joke' adds another day, extends to almost 25 theaters in North Texas

Updated on July 19, 2016, at 3:35 p.m.: Fans demanded it, and organizers answered. Batman: The Killing Joke will get another night in theaters, now showing on July 25 and July 26 at 7:30 p.m. and 10 each day.

Updated on July 12, 2016 at 6:04 p.m.: More than 300 locations have been added to the one-night-only screening of Batman: The Killing Joke, officially making it the widest-ever Fathom release.

Several North Texas theaters were added to the list, including: Village on the Parkway 9, Addison; Cinemark Allen 16; Parks at Arlington 18; and Cinemark 14 Cedar Hill. There are now almost 25 participating theaters in the area, almost double the number from when the screening was first announced.

Previously: Tickets are on sale today for Batman: The Killing Joke, which will come to the big screen for one night only on July 25.

Kevin Conroy (Batman) and Mark Hamill (Joker) will reprise their roles from the 1990s Batman animated series. This film is based on the seminal graphic novel of the same name that firmly planted Joker in the camp homicidal maniacs. The Joker causes more than harm to the Bat family in this harrowing graphic novel and film about his beginnings and an end to other things.

The screening will include an introduction by Hamill (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and a documentary about his role in the project.

The Killing Joke (rated a hard R, about 95 mins.) will screen at 7:30 and 10 p.m. in more than 600 theaters across the country, including about a dozen in North Texas, including three in Dallas: Galaxy Theatre, 11801 McCree Road; Northpark Center 15 With Imax and ETX, 8687 N. Central Expressway at Park Lane; and Cinemark 17 With Imax, 11819 Webb Chapel Road.
