Burlesque is Coming bills itself as "the only burlesque show based on the A Song of Ice and Fire books to win the personal approval of author George R. R. Martin."  Martin praised the  Virginia-based Blacklist Burlesque troupe's show on his LiveJournal page, saying, "They already had me at 'burlesque,' but they won my tiny black heart with 'nerd-lesque.'"

Burlesque is Coming: Game of Thrones Burlesque

When the show stops at Texas Theatre in Dallas for a single show on Wednesday night, expect silly lampooning of Game of Thrones characters and plotlines with strip-tease thrown in. If you think about it, GOT is particularly rich material for burlesque, with its combination of  deadly serious plotlines to mock and abundant nudity. Fun with puns is definitely a big thing for the troupe, as it says the the promotional materials, "Arya gonna come see us? Aw, c'mon, you gotta have a Sansa humor!"

In some performances of the show, at least, there's even been a special appearance by a Martin character cavorting in a rolling office chair, wearing  Martin's signature cap, a pair of brown pants that unbutton at the sides and a tear-away flannel shirt. Of course.

Dante the Inferno as Jaime behaves in a not-so-brotherly manner toward Moxie LaBouche as Cersei in "Burlesque is Coming." Just like the real thing.

The teaser video gives you an idea of what the show is like. (Don't worry, it's all setup, there's no one unclad in it. Make your own calls on if burlesque-show setup is SFW).
