Panther Island Pavilion offers free weekly fun in the sun with Rockin' the River and Sunday Funday

Check out Cowtown's back-to-back, recurring weekend wet-downs on the Trinity River.

If floating down a river with a cold beer and loud tunes sounds like the very definition of summer fun, check out Cowtown's back-to-back, recurring weekend wet-downs on the Trinity.

On Saturdays, the Rockin' the River series features Texas country bands, a total of 30 of them across a six-week spread. Fans float right up for a fish's-eye view as the all-day lineup rocks a waterfront stage. Headliners include Cory Morrow, Zane Williams and Kody West, who kicks off the raucous fun on July 6, and each night is capped off with a fireworks finale after dark.

On Sundays, rent tubes, pedal boats, kayaks, paddleboards and canoes for the laid-back Sunday Funday series. Take a free yoga class, meet adoptable pups from local rescues, play cornhole and other lawn games, and buy Panther Island Brewing beer or sodas, snacks and desserts from food trucks.

Both weekly events are at Panther Island Pavilion, 395 Purcey St., Fort Worth. Free admission; $5-$6 for tubes (all day); prices vary for other rentals and food and drink vendors. pantherislandpavilion.com.
