North Texas Beer Week may have ended Nov. 5, but Dallas-Fort Worth is lucky that breweries and beer-centric bars are keeping the good times flowing year-round. Going beyond pint nights and tap takeovers, ticketed events for the adventurous and sometimes silly craft beer lover are on tap with refreshingly regularity these days.
Here are a few of our favorite local craft beer ticketed events coming up soon:
Experimental Waffle Beer Breakfast
To the uninitiated, there's a lot of incongruity in the title of this event. But for the hophead, a combination of waffles and beer for breakfast is an enticing one. Division Brewing in Arlington will not only be making waffles to eat, but to add to the experimental beer they'll brew during the event (read: funky waffle morning glory). The ticket price gets you four pours of Division's coffee porter and plenty of waffles.
Saturday, Nov. 18, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Division Brewing, 506 E. Main St., Arlington. $25. More deets.
Beer and Chocolate Pairing
You may have sipped a decadent chocolate stout before, but it's safe to say you haven't ever paired a salami dark chocolate with an award-winning local pilsner. That's just one of the four tantalizing combos available in this session, featuring sweets from local chocolatier Dude, Sweet Chocolate. Truffles with a sour ale and caramel corn toffee with an imperial stout also give this session a unique flavor, just in time for your holiday party planning. You'll never again be satisfied with that Corona and salsa combo you've long been so proud of.
Saturday, Nov. 18, from 2-4 p.m. at Craft and Growler, 3601 Parry Ave., Dallas. $19.71. More deets.
Tupps and Tamales
If you're not already convinced that beer can be successfully paired with just about any food, this event might seal the deal for you. Savory tamales, and even sweet ones, from the Tamale Company, paired with some of Tupps Brewery's staple beers, as well as their fantastic new Red Rye IPA, sounds like a good way to spend the day, no?
Saturday, Nov. 18, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Tupps Brewery, 721 Anderson St., McKinney. $17. More deets.
Thanksgiving Pre-Mealin' with 18th & Vine
Peticolas Brewing Co. has been doing ticketed events with a focused theme for a long while now, and November's is a holiday-riffic doozie. For its Thanksgiving Pre-Mealin' with 18th & Vine, Peticolas will pair four beers with four meat-intensive courses cooked up in barbecue restaurant 18th & Vine's on-site smoker. After all, it's important to give your stomach a little practice time before Turkey Day actually arrives. It's only sensible.
Sunday, Nov. 19, from 2-4:30 p.m. at Peticolas Brewing Co., 1301 Pace St., Dallas. $45. More deets.
November Donut and Beer Pairing
Just in case you're unfamiliar with one of the best, most popular monthly ticketed beer events in our region, you'll want to save your weekend diet cheat day for this one. LUCK restaurant and Glazed Donut Works, both in Dallas, have teamed up for plenty of these monthly pairings and each menu seems not only to get more tasty, but more adventurous. Pomegranate and Earl Grey Tea are two of the four flavored doughnuts paired with local beers. Due to the always high demand for this event, there are now three brunch-friendly time slots to buy tickets for so that you don't miss out.
Sunday, Nov. 19, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at LUCK Dallas, 3011 Gulden Lane, Dallas. $18. More deets.
