The next generation of the country's top female impersonators will compete in Oak Lawn next week for the title of Miss Gay USofA Newcomer 2016. The drag pageant will take place at the Roundup Saloon and run from Monday, August 1st through Thursday, August 4th.
Up-and-coming drag queens from across the country will compete in categories such as talent, evening gown, and personal interview.
The Miss Gay USofA Newcomer pageant is limited exclusively to new competitors. Contestants may not compete if they have won a state or regional title in another major drag pageant, or appeared on the reality TV show RuPaul's Drag Race. Miss Gay USofA contestants can also only compete for a maximum of three years.
Special guests at this year's Miss Gay USofA Newcomer pageant include all of the former title winners and the full cast from Orlando's Pulse Nightclub. The event will be hosted by Chevelle Brooks and Kelexis Davenport.
Preliminary nights are on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at the Roundup Saloon, 3912 Cedar Springs Rd. Dallas, TX. Doors open at 8 p.m. and show time is at 9 p.m. Admission is $12.
The finale of the pageant is Thursday, August 4th. Doors open at 7 p.m. and show time is at 8 p.m. Admission for the finale is $25.
