Fun times and hard falls on 1,000-foot slip 'n slide in Dallas

In June, a giant slip 'n slide made its way to Fort Worth for a day or fun in the sun. This weekend, it was Dallas' turn.

Like a pop-up water park, a 1,000-foot slip 'n slide called the Urban Slide set up camp on the Sylvan Avenue Bridge Saturday and Sunday, welcoming an estimated 4,000 North Texans to splash around in the summer heat, according to the event's marketing manager Scott McMichael.

Just like the event in Fort Worth, there was plenty of slipping and falling in addition to sliding, as tubers were encouraged to get a running start before jumping on their floaties. This also meant unofficial games of bumper-tubes while flying down the slide. But, hey, that's all part of the fun, right?
