New food festival Park & Palate coming to Klyde Warren Park

Dallas' busiest park will add a new event to its calendar called Park & Palate. The new two-day food festival Sept. 25 and 26 will bring chefs, winemakers, cooking demonstrations and a "Dallas-style grand tasting" to the over-the-highway park near downtown Dallas.

The park's new vice president of events and programs, Erika White, will head up Park & Palate. White helped launch the Austin Food and Wine Festival and a similar fest in Nashville; she was also involved in the food- and wine-related activities at music festivals Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza and more.

"We are hopeful and excited that Park & Palate will bring all our patrons together -- philanthropists, foodies, wine connoisseurs, and music lovers alike," says Tara Green, president of Klyde Warren Park, in a statement.

The focus on celebrity chefs and cooking demonstrations sounds similar to Fork & Cork, the new, 21-and-up food festival in Addison that replaced a more casual Taste Addison last year.

No word yet on ticket prices for Park & Palate, but proceeds will go back to Klyde Warren Park. They'll announce the chefs participating at a later date, says a spokeswoman.
