UPDATED: Fort Worth's Rockin' the River concert series postponed

When the weather heats up, North Texans go looking for water. And that natural element is what makes the Rockin' the River summer concert series a popular destination in Fort Worth.

[UPDATE June 3 at 4:58 p.m.: Due to recent rains, the Tarrant Regional Water District will be releasing water from up stream on the Trinity River, causing unstable conditions for tubing at Panther Island Pavilion, a note says on the venue's Facebook page. For that reason, the concert series has been postponed two weeks and will run two weeks extra. See the amended schedule below.]

Every Thursday beginning June 25, bands take the stage floating atop the Trinity River near the banks of Panther Island Pavilion while fans enjoy the tunes equally as buoyant from tubes, rafts or paddle boards in the water. Dallas Morning News contributor Thor Christensen called the scene Cowtown's own musical lazy river, with plenty of beer drinking and people watching to satisfy. Patrons can also enjoy the action from the beach.

Tuesday, Rockin' the River announced the lineup for its fifth installment taking place June 25 through August 27 (see below). New additions to the event include a covered stage called The Shack, so the party can take place rain or shine. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. on concert days, the headlining band plays at 6:45 p.m. and the after party band plays at 8:30 p.m. The event culminates at dark with a fireworks show.
