Chef Tim Love invites foodies into his test kitchen for pop-up dinner series

Patrons of Tim Love's restaurants Lonesome Dove and Queenie's have experienced his Texas fare, but the chef will soon be showcasing his take on Italian cuisine, among other ethnic flavors.

Chef Love is inviting D-FW foodies into his test kitchen in downtown Fort Worth for a series of pop-up dinners that each focus on a different type of food. This month, the series begins with a pop-up called Ufficio that serves a fixed, six-course Italian menu. Dinner costs $85 and includes a cocktail to start, two glasses of wine with dinner, and Amaro and coffee after the meal.

[UPDATE Jan. 20 at 8:52 a.m.: Tickets to Ufficio are sold out. Hang tight until we receive more details about the forthcoming pop-ups.]

The series includes three more yet to be scheduled pop-ups, though they will likely occur once per quarter, according to spokeswoman Annie Black. Each pop-up's featured cuisine is also to be determined, but Love is tossing around options from Western Europe, such as Spanish or French fare, as well as Asia.

I know what you're thinking -- sounds like Love is taking potential new restaurant concepts on a test drive. Black said the potential for one of these pop-ups to get a brick and mortar space is "open-ended," though that's not currently Love's intention.

Hungry yet? Reservations to Ufficio are available Jan. 27-30 from 6-9 p.m. by calling 817-624-9712. The venue is located at 713 N. Main St. in Fort Worth.
