Shake Shack opens near Lakewood, M Streets and Park Cities on Memorial Day 2019

A former Fuddruckers near Lovers Lane and Greenville Avenue in Dallas will open as a Shake Shack on Monday, May 27, 2019.

The popular burger joint opens at 11 a.m. May 27 in the Old Town Shopping Center, at 5500 Greenville Ave., Dallas. The first 100 customers in line will get a free dessert.

The Advocate broke the news that a Shake Shack would be headed to the east-of-75 area of Dallas in early 2019. A location there makes it easy proximity for people who live or work in University Park, Highland Park, the M Streets, Lakewood and Lake Highlands. That's a lot of Dallas neighborhoods.

Shake Shack is relatively new to Texas: The first one landed in Uptown Dallas in fall 2016. Dallas-Fort Worth currently has five Shake Shacks, in Uptown Dallas, Plano, Preston Hollow, Las Colinas and Southlake, not counting the one inside DFW International Airport.

The erstwhile Fuddruckers, also a family-friendly burger joint, was open for more than two decades.

Customers at Shake Shack will find frozen custard concretes made with Emporium Pies pies; a burger with a Pecan Lodge jalapeno-cheese sausage link, and beers from Deep Ellum Brewing Company, Four Corners Brewing Co. and Community Beer Co. The restaurant is known for its burgers and crinkle-cut fries.

Shake Shack will donate 5% of sales of the Pie Oh My concrete to Children's Medical Center Dallas.
