Fort Worth coffee shop Brewed is moving into the Bishop Arts District, a funky-cool Dallas neighborhood with shops and restaurants.

The original shop, on Magnolia Avenue in Fort Worth, calls itself "the locals' living room." It has a spacious patio and a cozy interior with couches and tables. The new spot in Bishop Arts, expected to open in early February, will be at Davis Street and North Beckley Avenue, on the first floor of a new apartment complex.

Brewed will be located very close to the Central Market that parent company H-E-B says is coming to the corner of West Davis Street and North Beckley Avenue.

The ultimate D-FW coffee shop guide

Bishop Arts is a natural expansion spot for Brewed because the shop is co-owned by Shane Spillers, the man behind Eno's Pizza in the Bishop Arts District. (Spillers also a former owner of Oddfellows, a Bishop Arts spot known for its coffee.) Plus, Spillers is an Oak Cliff resident. "I'm honored to be part of bringing Brewed Ltd. to Bishop Arts and for the opportunity to continue to serve my friends and fellow neighbors," he says in a statement.

Co-owner Dayna Corley says the first Brewed, in Fort Worth, was largely inspired by the culture of the Bishop Arts District. "Our team held countless brainstorming sessions during Brewed's dream phase," she says in a statement, "and we were impressed by the sense of community and collaboration in Bishop Arts."

Brewed in Oak Cliff will sell coffee, tea, waffles and other snacks. They plan to use roasted coffee from Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters, Avoca, Tweed, Cuvee and more.

How one small company is fueling Dallas-Fort Worth's indie coffee boom

North Texas is a hotbed for coffee shops. Independently owned spots are percolating into nearly neighborhood. There's lots brewing. It's a grind. Customers appear to enjoy these shops a latte. OK, enough.

Oak Cliff has no shortage of coffee shops, either, with spots like the Wild Detectives, Davis Street Espresso, Cultivar, Tribal All Day Cafe, Local Press + Brew and others providing jolts of caffeine.

Brewed's journey from Fort Worth to Dallas includes an eventual stop in the middle, at Terminal D at DFW International Airport. Brewed at the airport is expected to open in April.

Fort Worth coffee shop Brewed expects to open a new store in the Bishop Arts District, in Dallas, in February 2019.
