Dallas' crazy-popular unicorn dessert bar has already spawned a Houston spinoff

That was fast.

Magical Dessert Bar — the tiny, unicorn-themed shop in Deep Ellum that inspired nearly 20,000 people to RSVP to opening weekend on Facebook — is expanding to Houston.

Chron.com reports that owners Usman and Javaria Babar will open a Magical Dessert Bar on Montrose, a neighborhood in Houston. The Babars expect it to open in February or March, which would be a mere 60 to 90 days after the Dallas shop opened.

Magical Dessert Bar's big stunner is the unicorn milkshake, but the shop makes other Instagrammy desserts, too, like pink-colored hot chocolate and lemonade topped with cotton candy.

That unicorn milkshake is just so extra, though:

Magical Dessert Bar in Dallas is a standing-room-only storefront, with just a dessert counter and a cashier. So the nearly 20,000 people who wanted in? Not a single one of them could even take a seat inside the shop, though two or three picnic tables are located outside of the shop, nearby.

In Houston, Usman Babar says the shop will be 1,500 square feet, "much bigger" than the Dallas shop.

The family also owns eight rolled ice cream shops called Chills 360, five of which are in Dallas-Fort Worth. A ninth is expected to open in Austin, Usman says.

As if the Babars weren't busy enough making unicorn dreams come true in two Texas cities, they welcomed their second child on Jan. 1, a daughter named Rania.

"I am very, very proud of my wife," Usman says. "She was working until the last day of her pregnancy."

The words he'd use to describe the busy last few weeks are "magical" and "exciting." Indeed.
