Top Chef on Bravo has turned out certified chef-lebrities from North Texas for years. While no Dallasites have won the competition yet, locals Casey Thompson (season 3) and Tiffany Derry (season 7) were voted fan favorites in their respective seasons.
Top Chef is swinging through Texas in search of its next contestants for season 16. Think you have the cooking chops and TV talent? D-FW folks can travel to Houston on Wednesday, Feb. 7 to apply. If you aren't planning to take a trip south, you can apply online.
The Top Chef crew is also traveling to Chicago, Detroit, New York City, Nashville, Philadelphia, Miami and San Francisco in February for casting calls.
One of Dallas' best-known Top Chef contestants is chef John Tesar, the man behind the steakhouse Knife. The cooking competition show has also featured D-FW chef Tre Wilcox and Dallas woman Danyele McPherson.
Top Chef has inspired a suite of shows: Top Chef Junior, Top Chef Masters and Top Chef: Just Desserts. The show is currently airing season 15 at 9 p.m. Thursdays on Bravo.
