The restaurant name seems fitting: The Artisan is opening in the Dallas Arts District.

It's the third restaurant in Hall Arts, a new building that's already home to Stephan Pyles' Flora Street Cafe and a coming-soon Asian restaurant called Musumé. Hall Arts and KPMG Plaza are located across the street from the Meyerson Symphony Center and Winspear Opera House in Dallas.

Not much is known yet about The Artisan other than buzzwords from a press release: It'll have "chef-driven menus with bold flavors and fresh, locally sourced ingredients," says a statement. The Artisan will serve cocktails, wine and craft beer and "fresh, local fare," restaurateur John Gilbert is quoted as saying.

The restaurant will be partially grab 'n go, with servers available during some parts of the day.

Pastas, salads, sandwiches, and cheese and charcuterie boards are expected to be on executive chef Michael Gooch's menu.

The terrace, which looks out over the Dallas Arts District, might be a popular spot at happy hour.

The Artisan will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and is expected to open in December 2017 at 2330 Flora St., Dallas.
