Expected to open Feb. 25, Kolache Korner will be located in front of the Lorenzo Hotel, a redone address in the Cedars.

The unconventionally-designed shop will serve both hotel guests and residents of the Cedars, says Lorenzo Hotel Managing Partner Scooter Yates.

Built inside refurbished shipping containers, the artsy outdoor space offers walk-up window service with a small dining area. Expect 8 to 10 kolaches on the menu, including sausage cheese, jalapeno cheese, blueberry, strawberry and apple. Kolache Korner will also sell Danish pastries, muffins, coffee, juice and smoothies. Mini king cakes will be on special for Mardi Gras.

One of the five shipping containers on site will later open as a small outdoor bar with live acoustic music planned a few nights a week. Hours will vary depending on hotel occupancy and weather. Yates says a schedule for the entertainment and bar area will be available within the next 30 days.

Kolache Korner will be a breakfast-only place: 6 to 10:30 a.m., Tuesday through Sunday. It will be located at 1011 S Akard St., Dallas.
