You know it's autumn when Starbucks releases its Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Here's a new one: You know it's Christmastime when Shake Shack announces its holiday desserts?
Shake Shack in Dallas, which opened with much fanfare on Sept. 1, is debuting three milkshakes and a chocolate lover's hot cocoa. Let me explain:
- Brownie batter hot chocolate: A cup of hot cocoa made with bittersweet dark chocolate and fudge sauce, topped with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. (So it's not sinful at all, obviously.) Available Nov. 1 through March 31 for $3.89.
Christmas cookie milkshake: sugar cookie frozen custard. Available Nov. 14-Jan. 1 for $5.79.
Chocolate peppermint milkshake: chocolate frozen custard blended with peppermint. Available Nov. 14-Jan. 1 for $5.79.
Pumpkin pie milkshake: actual pumpkin pie from a shop in Brooklyn blended with vanilla frozen custard. Available Nov. 14-Jan. 1 for $5.79.
"The feedback from our guests was so overwhelming that we wanted to bring them back," said Mark Rosati, Shake Shack's culinary director, speaking of the company's holiday shakes during a Facebook Live reveal from the Daily Beast.
