Dallas Mavericks serve up spicy burger named after The Colony basketballer Deron Williams

In a world where burgers can weigh 2 pounds, it's nice to see a stadium in Dallas going easy on the beef. The Dallas Mavericks announced it will sell a new burger at its concession stands in the month of November, and it's a simple 1/3-pound patty.

The Big D Will Burger, named for Mavs point guard Deron Williams, will give you a serving of veggies, too, from the red onion, romaine and tomato. But then there's bacon and cheese and chipotle mayo on top, onion rings on the side.

We didn't say it was healthy. That wouldn't be any fun.

The burger costs $12 on its own or $16 when paired with a Mavs team Bud Light can.

Williams, who has been in the NBA for 14 seasons, attended high school in The Colony. He led the Mavericks with 25 points in the season opener, which they lost 130-121 in OT to the Indiana Pacers.

The Big D Will Burger becomes available on Nov. 4 at the Mavs-Trail Blazers game at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. It will be sold in sections 106, 114 and 118.
