Soon, you can eat Thin Mints for breakfast with new Girl Scouts cereal

October might seem like a strange time to start planning New Year's resolutions, but we've got your next one on lock: Never, ever miss breakfast again. Why? Because beginning January 2017, General Mills will stock grocery shelves everywhere with Girl Scouts cookie cereal.

It's the most important meal of the day, after all. Better double up with a second helping after lunch or in the middle or the night just to be on the safe side.

A brand rep says there's not much he can divulge before January. Other burning questions include how long the "limited edition" cereal will be on shelves  and if cereal sales will, like the traditional cookies, benefit Girl Scouts of America. CNN Money reports the organization will see "some" of the proceeds, but General Mills is mum about what, if any, percent of sales will have a charitable effect.

What we do know from photos is that the new cereal will not contain high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors. Both varieties are described as "sweetened whole grain corn cereal" and will set you back 110 or 120 calories per serving.
