Chocolate-maker Kate Weiser has opened her second permanent sweets shop in Dallas. And just in time for the holidays?

Kate Weiser Chocolate launched two years ago in West Dallas. On Oct. 5, 2016, she opened a second store, at NorthPark Center in Dallas. A seasonal pop-up shop in Plano is coming soon.

It's October, I know. But Weiser and her merry band of bon bon builders are about to catapult into Willy Wonka mode through February. The company's busiest time of the year is Christmas through Valentine's Day, Weiser says.

Weiser's new shop is at NorthPark Center, next to the entrance of Neiman Marcus on the first floor. She's positioned by the highest-end shops in the complex, with Tiffany & Co., Gucci, Burberry and Cartier nearly within eyeshot.

And she'll fit right in over there. Her luxury chocolates are tiny pieces of art. The bon bons range from familiar flavors such as salted caramel and raspberry to more adventurous ones such as mango habanero and lavender apricot.

The NorthPark shop will focus on build-your-own bon bon boxes. So that means no ice cream, which is seasonally available at the original shop in West Dallas.

Weiser got her start in West Dallas, where she opened a chocolate shop in Trinity Groves with the help of restaurateurs Phil Romano, creator of Romano's Macaroni Grill, and Bob Sambol, creator of Bob's Steak & Chop House. The mission of Trinity Groves is to create restaurants and shops that are replicable, and Weiser was the first of the group to expand her restaurant outside of West Dallas.

She'll open a third Kate Weiser, this one temporary, at the Shops of Legacy around Thanksgiving. (She had that pop-up shop last year, too.)

The NorthPark store is teeny. "I'm really in love with this little 200-square-foot space," she says. She has plans to open other Kate Weiser shops and says she might stick with the small footprint. Someday, it's her dream to open outside of Texas.

"I'd love to get on an airplane and visit one of my stores," Weiser says.

Kate Weiser Chocolates at NorthPark will be open seven days a week: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Weiser does a 'happy dance,' signifying a successful opening after more than a year of discussions with NorthPark:
