Texas Rangers' 2-pound, $27 ghost pepper burger is one of four new postseason food items

Next time you visit Globe Life Park, the home of the Texas Rangers, you'll find four new menu items at the concession stands.

It's typical for the Rangers' concessions team to unleash odd, new foods for fans each postseason. This year, they have:

  • The TamArlington Dog: a tamale with a whole hot dog hidden inside
  • The Popcornopolis Pita: a brisket and mac and cheese sandwich topped with caramel corn
  • The N.E.Q. Sandwich: a Philly cheesesteak with onion rings, fried jalapeno, mozzarella sticks and waffle fries on top
  • The Atomic Burger: a 2-pound burger with ghost pepper sauce

Rangers writer Evan Grant and Entertainment Editor Sarah Blaskovich happily tried each new item. See the whole thing on Facebook Live, or check out the highlights:

So what did we think?

The TamArlington Dog: Sarah Blaskovich's favorite. "It's a Mexican corny dog!" Grant said.

The Popcornopolis Pita: "It is messy. But so is baseball." Well put, Evan. Never before have you seen beef, mac and cheese and caramel corn all in the same sandwich.

The N.E.Q. Sandwich: Evan Grant's favorite. He likes the comparison: The Never Ever Quit sandwich embodies the Rangers' team so well. And it also defines the sandwich itself: It's huge. And you might just never, ever quit eating it.

The Atomic Burger: "It's got a bit of a burn to it," Grant said. Don't get too scared off by the ghost pepper nacho cheese, however. We likened it to a very spicy jalapeno. Beware: You might feel the heat more with each bite. So if you eat the whole thing (which we did not do), you'll probably end in a sweat.
