Why this Rangers team is best prepared for October

October is destined to be an indulgent month, as the State Fair of Texas and the Texas Rangers' postseason kicked off within a few days of one another. Y'all, it's time for some outdoor eating!

Whereas the State Fair's new foods are mostly fried, the Texas Rangers' new foods are mostly oversized.

Here's a look at the four new foods available at Globe Life Park in Arlington during Major League Baseball postseason 2016:

The Atomic Burger: $27

Whoa. This is the Atomic Burger.

Whoa. This is the Atomic Burger.

Remember when Rougned Odor punched Jose Bautista in the face? Of course you do. Say hello to this punch-in-the-face burger: a 1-pound beef patty covered in bacon and cheese and topped with ghost pepper sauce. For those familiar with the Beltre Buster, a massive burger already available during Rangers games, the Atomic Burger is its spicy best friend.

The ghost pepper sauce makes this burger "definitely one of the hottest things we have in the ballpark," says Casey Rapp, general manager for Delaware North Sportservice, the concessions company at Globe Life Park in Arlington. It'll be hot, he warns -- but you don't have to sign a waiver or anything.

In all, the Atomic Burger packs 2 pounds of meat. It also packs a punch. Did we mention the punch?

Available in section 26 near home plate

The TamArlington Dog: $12

Surprise! Inside a tamale covered in chili and cheese is a full-sized hot dog.

"You know us. We love hot dogs," says Rapp. "We're always wanting to do something crazy with them."

Available in section 25, at the Casa de Fuego stand near home plate

The Popcornopolis Pita: $15

Such a cute name for such a giant sandwich. This pita is stacked with smoked-at-the-ballpark brisket, mac and cheese, and Popcornopolis caramel popcorn.

Available in sections 24, at the Butcher Block stand, and at the Smokehouse in section 49

The N.E.Q. Sandwich -- that stands for Never Ever Quit -- $18

A Philly cheesesteak gets the Texas treatment: fried jalapeno slices, onion rings, waffle fries and mozzarella sticks on top. It comes with Captain Morgan dipping sauce.

"The sandwich is bursting at the seams, for sure," Rapp says.

Available in the Captain Morgan Club, which is open to the public

If the Rangers continue to the American League Championship Series or the World Series, Delaware North will have "two to three new items, per round" for sale.

Don't jinx it.
