The State Fair of Texas is still a few weeks away, but if you're craving some fair food at this very moment, look no further than your nearest Wal-Mart.

Hostess Brands is launching packaged Deep Fried Twinkies that mark its first foray into frozen foods. The cream-filled snack comes in vanilla or chocolate. Check out the video below to learn everything you need to know about the new treat.

And here are the all-important details:

HOW IT'S MADE: A regular Twinkie is coated with a cake funnel batter and then proceeds through an oil bath to ensure the batter adheres. The Twinkies are immediately frozen and packaged.

HOME PREPARATION: Pull it out of the freezer and bake in a 350 degree oven for six to eight minutes. Or you can deep fry them for three minutes.

Frozen, deep-fried Twinkies are placed on a tray before baking.

THE PRICE: $4.76 per box of seven.

DISTRIBUTION: The Deep Fried Twinkies will be available starting Friday, Aug. 12, at Wal-Mart only for three months. After that, they will be available at other stores.

NUTRITION: The vanilla-cream version has 220 calories, 9 grams of fat and 16 grams of sugar. (For comparison, a regular Twinkie has 130 calories, 4 grams of fat and 14 grams of sugar.)

LIMITED-TIME TWINKIES: In December, Hostess teamed up with Wal-Mart for a limited-time mint-chocolate flavored cake. In June, it worked with the retailer on a tie-in for the new "Ghostbusters" movie, creating Key Lime Slime Twinkies for a short-term sale.
