DFW Restaurant Week kicks off with two-day festival in August

DFW Restaurant Week takes place Aug. 15-21 at more than 100 venues throughout the region. The event kicks off with a two-day foodie festival the preceding weekend.

Snag a reservation and you'll be treated to a prix-fixe dinner for either $35 or $45, depending on where you dine, or lunch for $20. Of the proceeds, 20 percent will go to charity.

Since many high-end eateries participate, consider this your opportunity to get in and out without spending your life's savings.

But keep in mind, reservations go quickly.

Some restaurants will also be serving its special menu before and after the official Restaurant Week (dates noted below). Here are a few more tips to help you make the most of it.
