North Texas Black Restaurant Week offers a taste Saturday before kicking off on Monday

The inaugural North Texas Black Restaurant Week will introduce itself with a tasting event Saturday during the Fair Park 80th anniversary celebration.

Participating restaurants, caterers, food trucks and scratch kitchens will share food from noon to 4 p.m. on the downstairs patio of the Magnolia Lounge, 1121 First Ave., in Fair Park.

The Fort Worth kickoff is 4 p.m. Sunday, June 12, at Venue Seven at 5240 N. Tarrant Parkway.

North Texas Black Restaurant Week starts Monday, June 13. It's an effort to promote black-owned businesses.

The Urban Brunch Co., The Bearded Chef, Chef in Heelz and Roots on Tap are just a few of the more than 30 participating businesses.
