As it turns out, people in Dallas like this coffee-in-the-morning, wine-in-the-evening concept. Coffee and wine bar Ascension, which first launched in the Design District, is expanding to Fort Worth and downtown Dallas.

Ascension also brews in Crescent Court in Uptown Dallas.

Ascension has become a popular spot for business meetings during the day, date nights in the evenings. It's serious, though not snotty, about coffee.

The Fort Worth Ascension is expected to open in WestBend, a development near the Fort Worth Zoo on South University Drive, sometime this fall. The shop will overlook the Trinity River and Trinity Trails, according to a statement from Trademark Property Company.

Ascension is also expected to open in downtown Dallas' Thanksgiving Tower, at 1601 Elm Street, according to our business writer Steve Brown.

The Ascension in Fort Worth should come first; downtown Dallas is expected in early 2017, Brown reports.

The original Ascension opened in 2012.
