New Italian restaurant Sprezza now open in Dallas, near Uptown

Dallas diners, ever in need of more good Italian food, have a new contender. Roman restaurant Sprezza is now open in Dallas as of Thursday night.

Chef-owner Julian Barsotti (the man behind Nonna and Carbone's Fine Food and Wine) describes Sprezza's interior as "sexy" and says he hopes it turns into a "bustling, fun" place to eat Italian food.

Whereas the four-star Nonna is Barsotti's high-end Italian restaurant and Carbone's is Italian-American, Sprezza is described as Italian comfort food with a focus on cocktails. Its name comes from the Italian word sprezzatura: "to do something complex and make it look easy," Barsotti explains.
