Long-time Dallas-Fort Worth restaurant Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House is launching its first high-end steakhouse in the Dallas suburbs.

The new restaurant in Plano is expected to open in the $2 billion development Legacy West in 2017. The Del Frisco's steakhouse will be located near Legacy Drive and the Dallas North Tollway.

The Del Frisco's brand, based in Southlake, has announced significant changes over the past several months. Most noteworthy is that the original Del Frisco's steakhouse on Spring Valley Road will relocate to Uptown Dallas in late 2016. (The original restaurant is expected to stay open in 2016 until its new outpost is ready.) The company has also continued to expand its more casual restaurant, Del Frisco's Grille, beyond North Texas. The grille has restaurants in California, New York, Florida and a handful of states in between.

The coming soon Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House in Uptown is one of the most exciting restaurant openings in Dallas in 2016. It might help make Uptown the center of the steak universe, as Uptown is also home to Ruth's Chris, Perry's, Capital Grille, Morton's, Nick & Sam's and a coming-soon STK.

With the new Del Frisco's Plano steakhouse, the company will operate three high-end steakhouses in Dallas-Fort Worth: one moving to Uptown, one eventually in Plano, and an existing Double Eagle Steak House in Fort Worth.
