Pay whatever you want for Slurpees at 7-Eleven on Saturday, Nov. 7

What's a Slurpee worth to you? On Nov. 7, 7-Eleven customers can name the price of a Slurpee drink of any size. All of the money goes to Feeding America, a nonprofit that works with food banks around the country and helped feed 46 million people last year.

What you need to know: The minimum price is 1 cent and there's no maximum number of Slurpee drinks you can order.

So technically, you could grab several giant Slurpees, pay one cent for each, and waltz out of 7-Eleven on Saturday. But you wouldn't be helping a good cause. And you might feel like a jerk.

A few guidelines:

  • Customers can select any size cup, including refillable mugs.
  • Those who are 7Rewards members will get a credit toward their Buy 6 Cups, Get the 7th Free program.
  • You're welcome to pay way too much -- or way too little. "Whether it is $0.05, $0.50 or $50," says a press release, "even a small donation can make a big impact to ensure people have something to eat this holiday season."
  • The promotion runs from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7-Eleven.

In case you're wondering why Saturday, 11/7 was chosen as this Dallas-based company's name-your-price Slurpee day, it's "Reverse 7-Eleven Day," or the opposite of 7-Eleven's birthday, on 7/11. Clever.

[Editor's note: This story incorrectly stated that the minimum price was $0. The publicist confirmed that number is in fact 1 cent.]
