Gas station treats? Yes: 7-Eleven does new ice cream, Sour Patch Kids Slurpees

You don't need another reason to purchase a Slurpee or a pint of ice cream in the heat of the summer. But fine, here's another: 7-Eleven has a new line of ice creams, available now, and debuts a Sour Patch Kids watermelon-flavored Slurpee on July 1.

The 7-year-old inside me is smiling.

No word yet on how sweet or sour the new Slurpee is; we haven't tried it.

As for the ice cream, it's darn delicious.

Dallas Morning News tasters tried samples of the Sea Salt Caramel Truffle and the Toasted S'Mores. Each have ribbons running through the ice cream: caramel in the sea salt truffle, marshmallows in the s'mores. For gas station ice cream, this stuff's a hit.

The ice cream became available June 1 and comes in other flavors we didn't try: banana cream pie, double cookie dough, fudge marshmallow, Oh Thank Heaven for chocolate, and vanilla bean.
