Lauren Lee of Lala's Cakes in Dallas will soon appear on Food Network's new series Cake Wars, where she was tasked with baking a Lego-themed cake.

The new series premieres Monday, June 29 with Jonathan Bennett (from the movie Mean Girls) as the host. Master pastry chefs Ron Ben-Israel (from Food Network show Sweet Genius) and Waylynn Lucas (co-owner of California dessert shop Fonuts), along with guest chefs, will judge each cake and determine which baker will be eliminated from each round. In the episode Lee competed in -- which airs Aug. 3 --  the guest judge will be Michael McNally, Lego's senior director of brand relations.

Lee's episode was filmed back in April, but she couldn't reveal all the sweet details.

"[Competing in Cake Wars] was a really good learning experience and it helped me realize that I love what I do and want to do it forever," she said.

Before Cake Wars, Lee had also competed on Cupcake Wars in a vegan-themed episode.

"The vegan episode [of Cupcake Wars] was crazy," Lee said. "I had a lot of fun and I met a lot of amazing people. Cake Wars, though, was more comfortable because I got to work with more familiar ingredients."

Contestants on Cake Wars showed off their baking chops in two intense rounds and competed for the chance to have their cake featured at a party at the Lego flagship store and win $10,000.

The first episode of the series, a Simpsons-themed competition, airs June 29 on Food Network.

Show featuring Dallas woman Lee airs at 7 p.m. Aug. 3 on Food Network.
