Which Wich recognizes active-duty and veteran service members with Flag Your Bag

For the past five years, Dallas-based sandwich chain Which Wich has been giving back to the community with the "Flag Your Bag" program. The program began in 2010 when the company decided to combine their signature guest-decorated bags with supporting our troops.

"Which Wich has always been about self-expression and giving back to the community," the company's Vice President of Corporate Communications Hala Habal said. "'Flag Your Bag' was just another way we could do just that and show some patriotism."

When you enter a Which Wich store and order your sandwich, customers receive a brown bag they are allowed to decorate with Which Wich's signature red Sharpie. Now, with an added blue Sharpie, guests can design a patriotic-themed bag to donate. The bag would then be filled with cookies, brownies and other various treats, which the bags would then be distributed to local military/veteran organizations.

Since its inception, Which Wich has collected more than 10,000 bags, including 6,000 in the past year alone. Habal explains that she would like to expand the program further and see an even larger increase in the bag donations.

"It's growing more and more," Habal said. "We promote it on our social channels but [the word about 'Flag Your Bag'] is spread by word-of-mouth. It's a little grassroots thing and it's growing."
