It was inevitable: The Babb Bros BBQ and Blues building wouldn't survive. When the restaurant opened on the south side of Singleton Boulevard as one of the earliest eateries in Trinity Groves, investor Phil Romano said the plan all along was to build apartments on that plot of land. That meant the existing Babb Bros BBQ was going to have to move.

It made the short leap over Singleton Boulevard and opens behind the main bank of restaurants in Trinity Groves at 11 a.m. Monday, May 4.

The barbecue joint will be open seven days a week. It serves lunch Sunday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's open lunch and dinner Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Look for live music Friday and Saturday nights. 

The menu will mostly stay the same, with smoked meats such as ribs and sausage, and traditional barbecue sides like cole slaw and tater salad.
