Nick Jonas is a big-time fan of Babe's Chicken Dinner House

You might have been surprised to see pop singer Nick Jonas' name as one of the performers at the ACM Awards. Rightly so: His music is more suited for a nightclub than a honky tonk and there's no sign of him taking a right turn toward country.

Never been to Babe's Chicken Dinner House? I'll give you one guess about what you should order.

He linked up Sunday night with Nashville's Dan + Shay, a versatile up-and-coming twosome who easily took on two of Jonas' singles, "Jealous" and "Chains." And instead of infusing a little twang into Jonas' tunes, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney helped keep it clubby.

"The beautiful thing about country music is they're really embracing," Jonas said in an interview with The Dallas Morning News.

Jonas seemed at home in AT&T Stadium, a venue he'd played with the Jonas Brothers in 2009. Jonas still has family in Westlake and splits his time between North Texas and Los Angeles.

So where would he suggest his new friends Dan + Shay eat, if they have a spare moment while in North Texas? Babe's Chicken Dinner House, Jonas says. (And hey! There's one very close to AT&T Stadium, in Arlington.)
