No doubt the macarons in pretty shades of pink and green will be the draw for most seekers of sweets who find themselves at Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie. The new bakery in West Village does a fine job with them, turning out admirable éclairs and tarts as well. But it's pastry chef-owner Andrea Meyer's delicate almond financiers that really set our hearts aflutter.

The small, tender tea cakes made with brown butter and topped with a neat line of almond slivers pair wonderfully with a cup of coffee in the morning; they're even better with afternoon tea. 

Don't have time to sit and indulge? Take a dozen to go: Parking is easy in this new part of West Village. And with their pretty packaging, the financiers make a beautiful gift.
