When midnight strikes on Dec. 31, there's one place in Dallas where the ball and bass will drop simultaneously.
Lights All Night electronic music festival will host one of the most outrageous New Year's Eve parties in the city for a sixth year running. DJs Hardwell, Kaskade and Porter Robinson lead the lineup with more than 40 others in the ranks. The event, which annually draws about 40,000 people, recently moved to Dallas Market Hall from its longtime home at Dallas' Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.
But before gearing up for run the dance floor, three of the performers dished on their New Year's resolutions. See what Hardwell, Datsik, Herobust and Kill Them With Colour are looking forward to in 2016.
At 27 years old, Dutch DJ Robbert van de Corput is one of the industry's biggest names. He recently attempted to set a world record for biggest guest list at a concert in India.
The highlight of 2015 was: My World's Biggest Guest List event in India, which raised money and awareness for education for underprivileged children living in the slums of Mumbai.
I plan to top it in 2016 with: Another world tour, more charity initiatives, and new music!
If you could collaborate with any musician in 2016, who would it be? Pharrell
This 27-year-old Canadian, born Troy Beetles, is at the forefront of dubstep. He recently collaborated with Snoop Dogg.
What your biggest aspiration for 2016? To slow down and enjoy the moment. It's tough to do so when you are traveling and flying around a ton, so this year I am going to try and take it all in and attempt to utilize my time in each city across the globe!
Atlanta native Hayden Kramer pays homage to his roots with hip-hop leaning beats. Herobust has a new EP due out in January.
What's your biggest aspiration for 2016? For 2016, my goal is to blow up and act like I don't know nobody. Also, I think I'll try yoga.
If you could collaborate with any musician next year, who would it be? Gucci Mane
The highlight of 2015 was: Hearing thousands of fans yell "SKURRRT" at festivals.
I plan to level up in 2016 with: Full hip-hop tracks, and bring talented rappers and vocalists out to performances.
Kill Them With Colour
Formerly a duo, Wesley Marsh of Toronto took the reigns as Kill Them With Colour transitioned into a solo project.
What's your biggest aspiration for 2016? In 2016, I'd like to develop a live set for my shows and incorporate a more personal side into my music with vocals and percussion.
If you could collaborate with any musician next year, who would it be? It'd also be a dream come true to work with Jamie xx on something.
