More than 6,000 people showed up the inaugural Pegasus Music Festival last June at Verizon Theatre, featuring an emo-heavy bill headlined by Brand New. So organizers thoughts, why not do it again?

The event returns to its Grand Prairie stomping grounds on Saturday, September 25 with another gaggle of rock bands, including headliners Rise Against and Thrice. (See full lineup below.)

Additionally there will be one local opener determined by a battle of the bands at Trees in Deep Ellum on August 23.
This year, the name has changed slightly to put an emphasis on another offering -- craft beer. Because who doesn't want in on one of the area's trendiest beverages?
While the Pegasus Music and Craft Beer Festival, as it's known, utilizes Verizon's indoor stage, the festival also takes over an outdoor parking lot where patrons can play tailgate games such as corn hole and grab a craft beer. Hopheads don't get too excited -- at the moment, there are no plans to do anything special in the way of craft beer, a la Untapped Festival or Big Teas Brew Fest, says marketing manager Ryan Brandon. But crews will be upping the number of breweries serving here from last year's five or six, he says.
Tickets for Pegasus Music and Craft Beer Festival go on sale this Friday, June 26 for $42.50 to $125, depending on where you want to sit. We'll be sure to keep you updated as more details about the fest emerge.
