Description: Children with diabetes and their siblings learn self-confidence and peer support. Activities include swimming, fishing, games and diabetes management lessons.

Camp C.A.R.E. (Children With Articulation and Resonance Errors)
Ages: 3-21.
Where: University of Texas at Dallas, University Parkway at Campbell Road, Richardson.

Description: Graduate students from UTD's Department of Communication Disorders provide intensive speech therapy for children with cleft palates.

Cochlear Implant Summer Listening Camp

Description: Campers with cochlear implants are paired with University of Texas at Dallas graduate students, who focus on listening and oral communication skills.

Special Needs Art Camp
Ages: 8-10.
Where: Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St., Fort Worth.

Description: Campers, accompanied by a parent or caregiver, explore the galleries and museum grounds and create their own works of art. Class is limited to 10 campers.

S.T.A.R. (Speech Therapy and Recreational) Therapy Programs
Ages: 16 months-6 years.

When: June-July. Classes are scheduled at various times, once a week for six weeks (call or check Web site for schedule). Four-day camps run Monday-Thursday 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Description: Children with special communication needs, accompanied by a parent, work on individual objectives in small group settings. Techniques combine music, dance, social skills, sounds and home-practice ideas.
