Children's Chorus of Greater Dallas Summer Singing Camp
Ages: Entering grades 4-8.
Where: Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe, 2215 Ross.
When: June 16-20. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.- noon or 1-4 p.m.
Cost: $125; free to students enrolled in a DISD school (DISD students must pay a $25 deposit, which is refundable at completion of camp).
Description: Campers sing songs, get performance tips and learn how to play hand bells. Campers present a short end-of-camp concert for family and friends.

The Heights Music Camps
Where: The Heights Baptist Church, 201 W. Renner Road, Richardson.
Tiny Tots & Tunes: Infants and toddlers, accompanied by a parent or caregiver, sing and move to music and are introduced to instruments. June 16-19, 9:30-10:20 a.m. (for ages 3-17 months) or 10:30-11:30 a.m. (for ages 18 months-3 years). Registration deadline: June 3. $25.
Joylands Mini Music Camp: Campers ages 3 through pre-K engage in music, crafts and story activities. Children's entertainer Miss Pattycake performs on the last day of camp. June 23-26, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Registration deadline: June 10. $40.
Summer Music Spectaculars: Campers entering grades 1-7 rehearse and put on a musical. July 21-24, Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.- 2 p.m., with a Thursday evening performance. Registration deadline: July 9. $75.

Kindermusik

Music Mania

Description: Campers learn the fundamentals of music, voice and performing through activities that include singing, playing instruments and games.

Musikgarten

Description: East Dallas Children's Music presents Musikgarten classes and camps, a curriculum designed to develop music literacy in children. Classes include singing, dancing and playing instruments for ages 4 and younger. Camps for older children feature nature themes and keyboard adventures.

North Lake College Visual and Performing Arts

O'Flaherty Irish Music Youth Camp
Ages: 6-15.
Where: Springhill Retreat Center, 3991 E. Renner Road, Richardson.
When: June 30-July 1. One- or two-day session, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. each day.

Description: Presented by the Traditional Irish Music Education Society. Students learn to play Irish tunes on a variety of instruments, including fiddle, flute, tin whistle, guitar and bodhrán (Irish drum). Other activities include a dance, concert and cookout.

Studio B Vocal Workshops
Where: Studio B Performing Arts Center,
2400 Justin Road, Highland Village.
American Idol Workshop: June 9-July 18. Six-week session, Monday-Friday 6-10 p.m. Students ages 12 and older with previous voice training can enroll in this intensive workshop that includes two private lessons per week and a weekly music seminar. A performance at the end of the workshop is presented on July 18. $600.
Cabaret Workshop: Aug. 11-23. Two-week session, Monday-Friday 6-9 p.m., with a performance on the final day. Students 11 and older receive coaching to improve voice skills. $325.
