Getting to and from D/FW

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

From downtown Dallas: Take Interstate 35E north, then west on State Highway 183 to the airport's south entrance OR take Interstate 35E north, then on West Bound 114 to the north airport entrance.

From northern Dallas County: Take Interstate 635 west to Highway 121, then south to the airport's north entrance.

From downtown Fort Worth: Go east on State Highway 121. At State Highway 183, also known as Airport Freeway, go east until you get to the south entrance.

From northeast Tarrant County: Take State Highway 114 to the airport's north entrance.

ON AIRPORT GROUNDS

Tollbooths: Drivers are not charged a toll when entering the airport grounds, but are charged when leaving.

Passkey: Easy entrance and exit of airport grounds for frequent users. Call 888-269-2811. Or click www.passkey.net.

Smile for the camera: As you drive through the entry tollbooth, a camera shoots a nearly instantaneous photo of your car’s license plate. The booth attendant keys in the license plate number and time of entry, this information appears on the ticket stub and determines the amount owed. This can serve as validation in case of a lost tollbooth ticket; however, there is a $10 surcharge for all lost tickets.

Driving tip: The winding airport roads to the terminals twist and turn in figure eights and can be confusing, to say the least. Watch the signs carefully. If you miss a turn or get on the wrong track, allow 10 minutes to find your way back to the same spot. Everything at D-FW eventually is circular, but because of the layout you have to use the long north-south International Parkway and then find a U-turn near one of the two big exit plazas. Tip is to not miss your turn.

Note: All roads on airport grounds are one-way and all exits are to the left.
