Free margaritas at Gwyneth Paltrow’s Dallas shop means liquid courage to buy expensive stuff

Walk into Goop, the pop-up shop from actress Gwyneth Paltrow, on a Monday evening and you'll be rewarded with a free margarita. That's good news -- or perhaps a sly trick -- because you may need some liquid courage to purchase some of the crazy-expensive items there.

Paltrow first brought Goop to Dallas in 2014 and reopened the store this spring in Highland Park Village. The store sells anything that falls into the "lifestyle" category, from housewares and cookbooks to makeup and herbal supplements. (It's worth noting that some of her items that tout health benefits have drawn scrutiny, such as body stickers using "NASA space suit material." NASA's former chief scientist called that claim "BS.")

This time around, Goop partnered with Cointreau to open a margarita bar in the middle of the store. Stop by on a Monday between 4-6 p.m. and choose from three libations curated by Paltrow herself: the original margarita, made with blanco tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and salt; the spicy, which adds jalapeño; and the "farmers market" margarita, featuring carrot, orange, and lime juice, plus tequila and Cointreau.
