TBAAL annual King holiday concert will celebrate legacy Jan. 14 at Meyerson

The Black Academy of Arts and Letters 35th annual Music and the Civil Rights Movement Concert will be Sunday, Jan. 14.

The annual concert honors the national holiday dedicated to honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year's special guest performers are familiar to those who make the show an annual excursion: B. Slade and Rahsaan Patterson. The organization's 200-voice choir will also perform.

But there will be a surprise in store as Nora Dee-Davis, Dr. Hasna Muhammad and Guy Davis, the children of late actor-vists Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, make a presentation to TBAAL during the program. Davis and Dee worked closely with King; they also worked with TBAAL founder Curtis King to bolster his organization.
