Mark Cuban won't oust Dallas brewery for Mavericks practice facility

On June 2, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban became Community Beer Co.'s landlord after he purchased 13 acres of land at Stemmons Freeway and Inspiration Drive in Dallas to build a new practice facility for the basketball team. And thankfully, he won't be redeveloping at the expense of locally brewed beer.

Cuban told Central Track this week the Mavericks' new digs will only take up about 100,000 square feet and the brewers "will stay in their lease" — good news not only for the award-winning craft brewery, but also the hopheads who party there. (That's us.)

Opened in 2013, Community Beer Co. quickly gained local notoriety with its Mosaic IPA. The next year it won a gold medal for its Public Ale at Great American Beer Festival, which considered one of the country's most prestigious awards.
