Magically delicious? Find out where you can try Lucky Charms-flavored beer and cocktails

Editor's note: This story has been updated from its original format.

In the spirit of St. Paddy's Day, Alamo Drafthouse and Martin House Brewing Co. have teamed up to throw a rightfully Irish party on March 17 with a screening of The Boondock Saints. What kicks this party up to full blown leprechaun status is one special beverage that will be available: a firkin of Lucky Charms-infused beer.

Martin House filled up a firkin (a small cask) with its Day Break breakfast beer, then added Lucky Charms cereal and crushed cinnamon sticks to the vessel, according to one brewery sales rep who goes by the name Shugg. If you're wondering what it tastes like, your guess is a good as anyone's -- once a firkin is filled it cannot be tapped until it's ready to be served, says Shugg. But he expects the beer to be "very sweet" and the cinnamon to come through. Maybe like drinking the leftover milk from a cereal bowl? (There's a local cocktail that uses real cereal milk; see below.)

"I don't even know what those marshmallows are going to do with the color," Shugg says. "We'll see."

Shugg and Martin House head brewer Cody Martin will be onsite at the movie on St. Patrick's Day. They'll also be bringing  the Salty Lady (gose), Hibiscus Saison, Counter Clockwise Swirl (strong blonde ale) and Cellarman's Reserve (single hop India pale ale).

The Boondock Saints begins at 8 p.m. on March 17. The event is part of Alamo Drafthouse's ongoing Hopped Up Cinema Series, which features a different brewery and specialty beer tasting once a month. Tickets cost $25. The price includes a commemorative pint glass and flight of beers.

If you're more the cocktail type, Tuesday is also your lucky day. Uptown bar Parliment, which was recently named one the Dallas' best new watering holes, is serving what bartenders call Cereal Milk Punch. According to D Magazine, the bev is a mix of Jameson Irish whiskey, cereal milk, vanilla, Demerara sugar, and fresh cinnamon and nutmeg, all topped with some Lucky Charms marshmallows.
