Dallas 'Bachelorette' Rachel Lindsay makes first public appearance with fiance at Wings game

ARLINGTON -- Dallas lawyer Rachel Lindsay, who got engaged on reality TV series The Bachelorette this week, made her hometown debut with fiance Bryan Abasolo at the Dallas Wings' matchup with the Phoenix Mercury at the College Park Center Thursday night.

It was Lindsay and Abasolo's first public appearance since they got engaged in The Bachelorette's season finale. They brought out the game ball and sat courtside during the game.

"We literally landed today and now we're here," Lindsay said, looking up at Abasolo at her side. "We're huge sports fans. This is what we share in common. So when we were told about the game, it was here. It was perfect."

Lindsay played basketball in high school at First Baptist Academy. But when she was a kid, there was no local WNBA team to root for as the Wings just moved from Tulsa in 2016.

"I think it's huge. It's about time," Lindsay said. "It's great. It's my first time coming to a game because I've been running around so much in the last year. But we're happy to be here representing Dallas, representing the Wings. And hopefully we'll be at more games."

Lindsay and Abasolo, a chiropractor from Miami, described the few days since their engagement as a "whirlwind."

"I can't believe we're in Dallas right now. I'm home," Lindsay said. "We've been everywhere. L.A., New York, Connecticut. We're happy to be home. This feels natural."
